Who is responsible for your data

What data I process, and why

If you use the contact form. I process your name, your email address and whatever you write in the message, for the sole purpose of replying to you. The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the box before sending, and you may withdraw it at any time by writing to me. Your message is kept on my server for 30 days at most and is then deleted automatically; the email it arrives in is kept for as long as the conversation still makes sense, like any other. None of it is used to profile you or to send you advertising.

If you write to me by email. I process your address and whatever you tell me, for the sole purpose of replying. The legal basis is your own request (art. 6.1.b GDPR: steps prior to a contract, or a legitimate interest in answering an enquiry). I keep the conversation for as long as it still makes sense, and afterwards for as long as legal obligations require.

If you are only browsing. You do not have to give me any data to read this site, and I do not use it to build profiles or for advertising.

Audience measurement, without cookies

I measure how many people visit this site and which pages they look at, using a self-hosted analytics tool on a server in the European Union. That is the reason this site shows you no cookie banner: it stores and reads no cookie and no identifier on your device, and the data is aggregated and anonymous.

Your IP address reaches the server, as it does on any visit to any website, and it is used transiently to derive the country and to generate a session identifier that cannot be reversed. I do not store IP addresses, I do not cross-reference your visit with any other site, and I do not pass any of this to third parties.

Who else can see your data

Nobody for their own purposes. The only third parties involved are the providers needed for the site to work and for me to read your email (hosting and email), which process the data on my behalf and under contract. There are no international data transfers: the site, the analytics and the email are all hosted in the European Union.

Your rights

You can ask me to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict or object to its processing, and request its portability, by writing to hola@hectorxlxs.com. I answer even when the answer is that I hold nothing of yours.

If you believe I have not handled it properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

If any of the above changes, this page is updated. The date below says when it was last reviewed.
